Which Flywing?
Flywing's whole range is built around one idea: a 450-class helicopter with the H1 flight controller, which gives six-axis stabilisation, GPS position and altitude hold, and a return-to-home function. Let go of the sticks and the helicopter stops and hovers. For a first collective-pitch helicopter that is transformative.
The FW450L V3 is the plain trainer version: a pod-and-boom 450 that is quick to repair and cheap to keep flying. The scale models put the same mechanics inside a BO-105, Bell 206, UH-1 Huey or Airwolf fuselage. They are the least expensive scale helicopters we sell by some margin.
Models come RTF with a transmitter, or PNB (plug and bind) for pilots who already own a radio. We also list occasional ex-demo and warranty-return units at reduced prices; those are marked clearly and sold as described.
- FW450L V3 trainer
- No fuselage, so crashes are cheap and repairs are quick. The best way to learn collective pitch with a safety net. Available in orange or green.
- BO-105 Universal
- The most popular scale model in the range, and the one we reviewed. Air-ambulance looks, four-blade head, surprisingly easy flight.
- Bell 206 V3 and Huey V4
- Two-blade classics. The Huey in particular is a crowd favourite at the field, and both fly smoothly on the H1 controller.
- Airwolf V2
- Everyone's favourite 1980s helicopter, with the same self-levelling flight controller underneath.
- Is the Flywing FW450L a good first helicopter?
- Yes. It is the helicopter we most often recommend to someone who wants to learn proper collective-pitch flying. The H1 controller holds a hover for you, and when you do crash the parts are cheap.
- What does PNB mean on Flywing models?
- Plug and bind: the helicopter is complete and set up, but no transmitter is included. You bind it to your own radio using a compatible receiver.
- Flywing or FLISHRC?
- Flywing is cheaper and simpler; FLISHRC is bigger, more detailed and has a wider fuselage range. Both are GPS-stabilised. Our Flywing vs FLISHRC guide covers it.
- What are the ex-demo and warranty-return listings?
- Helicopters that have been flown for demonstration or returned with a fault and repaired. Each listing describes the unit's condition and what has been done. They are sold at a discount and with the same 30-day returns policy.

Flywing is the most affordable way into scale RC helicopters — ready-to-fly BO-105s, Hueys and Bell 206s with GPS stabilisation, for well under half the price of the premium brands.

Flywing BO-105 reviewed: scale looks, surprisingly easy flight
A universal-fit BO-105 body on a well-sorted 450-class mechanics. Is it a scale curio or a legitimate flyer? Both, it turns out.

Flywing vs FLISHRC: which scale RC helicopter should you start with?
Two scale brands, the same fly-it-not-build-it idea — but a £900 gap in price and a real gap in size and detail. Where Flywing's affordable ships end and FLISHRC's premium FL500 V2 range begins.
