Are your helicopters ready to fly?
Many are. We stock ready-to-fly (RTF) machines that include everything you need to get in the air, as well as PNF/PNP models for pilots who already have a transmitter. Larger premium scale helicopters are often supplied as ARF (Almost Ready to Fly) kits, where you add your own electronics. Each product page states the completion level — our RTF, BNF, PNF and ARF explainer breaks down what each means.
Which helicopter should I start with?
If you’re new, start small and cheap — a coaxial or fixed-pitch trainer is stable, forgiving and won’t hurt if you crash while learning to hover. See our best helicopters under £150 shortlist and how to pick your first helicopter. Don’t start on an expensive scale or collective-pitch machine.
Do you offer free delivery?
Yes — UK orders over £129.99 ship free, and standard UK delivery is £10.99. We dispatch next-day on orders placed before 3pm. Full details on our delivery page.
What is your returns policy?
You have 30 days from delivery to return an unflown, unused item for a refund; faulty, damaged or wrong items are put right at our cost. Full terms on our returns page.
Do I need a licence or insurance to fly?
There’s no compulsory licence, but any aircraft over 250g needs a CAA Operator ID and Flyer ID, and most pilots join the BMFA for insurance and Article 16 cover. See our guide to BMFA membership and where to fly.
Do you sell spare parts?
Yes. We stock parts, blades, tail rotors, servos, flybarless units, gyros, motors, ESCs, batteries, chargers and transmitters, including model-specific spares for the scale helicopters we sell.
What batteries and charger do I need?
It depends on the helicopter — the product page lists the recommended battery. Most run LiPo packs with a balance charger suited to the cell count. Our guide on choosing LiPo batteries explains how to pick.
Are prices inclusive of VAT?
Yes. All prices are shown in GBP and include UK VAT.
Do you ship internationally?
Yes, worldwide on request. Email hello@rc-helicopters.co.ukwith the items and your address and we’ll quote shipping. Import duties and taxes are the customer’s responsibility.
