Which Roban?

Roban is the name most scale helicopter pilots think of first. The company has been producing moulded scale fuselages for over a decade, and the catalogue covers everything from a Bell 206 Jet Ranger to the Eurocopter Tiger and the Chinese Z-10. If a real helicopter is popular, Roban probably makes it.

The range splits in two. The 450 and 470-size models are supplied ready to fly with electronics and a conventional flybarless system installed, and they are the affordable way into scale flying. The 700 and 800-size kits are ARF: fuselage, scale rotor head and mechanics, with the electronics left to you.

We stock Roban from UK shelves, with spares and the batteries and chargers the smaller models need. If you cannot see the fuselage you want, ask: we can usually get it.

450 and 470 RTF
Complete scale helicopters with a 450-class mechanic, flybarless controller and transmitter. Fly from a park or large garden. Not GPS-stabilised, so some hover practice first is sensible.
700 ARF
The sweet spot for a first big scale build: 1.5-metre rotor disc, 12S power, and enough fuselage volume to make the electronics installation straightforward.
800 ARF
The flagships. Airwolf, Bell 412, EC135, AS-365, Super Puma. Maximum presence, and the most demanding build.
Multi-blade models
The EC135, Bell 412, Z-10 and others use four or five-blade scale heads. Superb in a hover, and they need a flybarless unit set up for scale.
Questions

Before you buy

Not answered here? Email hello@rc-helicopters.co.uk and a pilot will reply.

Are Roban helicopters ready to fly?
The 450 and 470-size models are. The 700 and 800-size kits are ARF: you add servos, flybarless controller, motor, ESC, receiver and batteries.
Roban or FLISHRC?
Roban for range and for big ARF builds; FLISHRC for a GPS-stabilised scale helicopter that flies the day it arrives. Our Roban vs FLISHRC guide goes through it properly.
What electronics does a Roban 800 need?
Typically a 700-class brushless motor, a 120 to 160A ESC, high-torque cyclic servos and a fast tail servo, a flybarless controller suited to multi-blade scale heads, a receiver and two 6S LiPo packs run in series. Email us with the model and we will spec it.
Do you stock Roban spares?
Yes, including batteries and chargers for the 450 and 470 RTFs. For fuselage parts not listed, email us and we will source them.
