FL450, FL500 or FL700?

FLISHRC builds complete scale helicopters around its own mechanics and flight controller. The L7 controller gives the aircraft six-axis stabilisation, GPS position hold and altitude hold, so a 500-class Apache or Huey hovers hands-off and recovers itself when you let go of the sticks. For a scale pilot who wants to fly rather than build, it is hard to beat.

The range runs from the FL450 V5, a 450-class machine for parks and large gardens, through the FL500 V2, the core of the range with the widest choice of fuselages, to the FL700 Tiger for pilots who want 700-class presence with the same stabilisation.

Every model is sold RTF with a transmitter or as BNF/RTR for pilots with their own radio. We stock the mechanical assemblies and spares for each fuselage, which matters more than it sounds: scale helicopters get repaired, not replaced.

FL450 V5
The entry point. 450-class, GPS-stabilised, ready to fly, flies from a park. Airwolf, Bell 206 and Huey fuselages.
FL500 V2
The main range and the one we reviewed. More fuselage choice than anything else at this size: Apache, Cobra, Huey, Twin Huey, Black Hawk, Sea Hawk, MD500, EC135, BO105, A109, AS350, Little Bird.
FL700
700-class scale with the same L7 stabilisation. The Tiger EC665 is the current model. Club-field size with ready-to-run convenience.
RTF, RTR or BNF
RTF includes the FLISHRC transmitter. RTR and BNF versions are for pilots binding to their own radio; check the receiver protocol on the product page.
Questions

Before you buy

Not answered here? Email hello@rc-helicopters.co.uk and a pilot will reply.

Is a FLISHRC helicopter suitable for a beginner?
Yes, and it is one of the few scale helicopters we would say that about. GPS position hold and self-levelling mean a first-time pilot can hover on day one. Start with the FL450 or FL500 and fly it in a calm, open space.
What is the difference between the FL500 V2 and FL450 V5?
Size and fuselage choice. The FL500 V2 is 500-class with a larger rotor and a much wider range of fuselages; the FL450 V5 is smaller, cheaper and easier to fly from a garden. Both use GPS stabilisation.
Can I use my own transmitter?
Yes. Buy the RTR or BNF version and bind to a compatible receiver. The product page lists the protocols supported; email us if you are unsure your radio will work.
How do FLISHRC and Roban compare?
FLISHRC is stabilised and complete; Roban offers more fuselages and the big ARF kits. We've written a full Roban vs FLISHRC comparison and reviewed the FL500 V2 and the BO105.
